TMI... but question

I know this will be TMI, but I'm hoping that someone can tell me if they know what this could be...

My period is 6 days away- and has been pretty regular since having DS. My husband and I were intimate yesterday and I'm not on any bc (we aren't ttc, it was a heat of the moment thing). This afternoon I went to the bathroom and there was stringy bloody mucus. It wasn't like spotting... it was stringy and bright red. I know it's too early for implantation- but I'm unsure of what this is. I had a MC in November and I think I am hyper sensitive to anything that seems abnormal.

Anyone know what this could be, or have had something similar? Thanks.

This is going to sound gross, but maybe it was the remnants from sex, mixed with the start of your period? Whatever it is, if you had sex yesterday then it couldn't really be anything like a miscarriage today. It could take a week for the fertilized egg to even implant.
