24 hour urine catch

I started my 24 hour catch Friday morning to test for pre-e. what I didn't realize was how much pee I would have!!! The container they gave me cant hold it all! I am using a water bottle to catch the rest of my urine until 6 :20am and my fingers are crossed that this will be good enough for the lab to test all the urine. For those of you who will be taking this test, request an extra container just in case.

Re: 24 hour urine catch

  • You should call and let them know they didn't give you enough containers. They did that to me the last time I did a 24 hour catch and I assumed what I had collected was enough and I was wrong. If DH hadn't gone to pick up more containers and I continued to collect the test would have been void and I would have had to start all over again.

  • Luckily I have only had to do this once, and I was in hospital already so it didnt matter. I think it would totally suck to have to do it at home. Thanks for the tip, hopefuly I dont have to use it, but good to know

    this!

i've done the test three times and the first time i had to go back up there late at night (the lab was at the hosp so they were open 24/7) and pick up another bottle.

  • I do mine tomorrow. Called after reading this and they told me to use a wide mouth water bottle for any extra :) guess I'll just be drinking the water and then refilling the bottle!!
