Taking new baby to big family party?

Well, lo is 6 days old today, and DH's family has a belated Christmas celebration today. I admit that I am a bit weary because she's so young, there's a ton of sickness going around right now, and it's about an hour away. Should I keep her home, or go? Sorry for any typos, but I am on my phone. 

DD: 1/8/12
DS: 3/12/14

    This won't be helpful, but you have to do whatever you are comfortable with!!  It's your daughter and you are the mom.  Hopefully the family will understand.  Plus, you can always come up with something "Oh the baby isn't feeling well"or whatever. Good luck!

    I personally would, when I had DD we came home on Christmas Eve that year and we went out both that night and Christmas day to visit family and stuff. It's all up to you

    Thanks....I think I am comfortable, but it was my mom who suggested maybe I should take it easy. I know DH is excited to show her off, so I feel bad saying let's stay home! Maybe we can just make it a shorter visit.

    Good luck with your decision - but I really think you should stay home.  RSV is terrible right now and you don't want your LO to end up in the hospital.

    I get taking it easy and surprisingly I did because everyone was trying to help and not let me do anything. Also like you said it can be short everyone will understand if you leave early

    You could have a no touching policy. Bring a sling or something and keep her close and ask them not to touch because she hasn't built up her immune system.

    I think if you want to go, you can go but have a no touching policy.  I have to have a bris 8 days after DS is born - but I'm not allowing anyone to hold him.
