I just responded to a post below and mentioned how LO was quite a surprise for DH and me, seeing as how I was diligently taking BCP. Just curious how many other May mommies were surprised vs trying..[Poll]

I said yes, because technically we were trying. However, we were trying under the assumption that I had fertility issues and we needed to try for a certain period of time before the doc's would ok the right tests. Turns out I didn't have the problem we thought I did!! I got pregnant our second time trying

I put no. I stopped using BC pills to start charting/temping to avoid and we failed to use condoms the first month so here we are. So, it wasn't planned but we seemed to be okay if it failed b/c we knew that was a possibility.

The doctors had told us we had less than 35% chance of getting pregnant on our own. That's why we went ahead with the 2 adoptions and then BAM it happen. We were just going about out business...But we are very happy.

I said yes because we were trying but I got pregnant this time the cycle immediately after a loss so it was a surprise. And it was our third month trying so.... yeah....

Voted no because we had been trying and then just kinda figured whatever happens and stopped "trying" and bam pregnant.

I said no...my DH is in the Marines an we have windows of time to see each other and you'd think we were b/c of that but we actually were just taking advantage of him being home and getting to have alone time before leaving again and hellloo baby #2

I had a huge plan to get pregnant in August, have the baby in May to be off in the summer with my kids, plan for a boy and chart on WebMD....

It all worked as planned, pregnant on the first try, except we are having 2 BOYS!! My plan has since been revised! We're very excited!

I said 'yes', but it's kinda 'no' too. We had been trying for 18ish months and had begun some testing this past summer. Then I started a new job in July and decided to stop trying for a few months (you need to work for one year before a company is required to hold your position through mat leave) and that's when it happened. But, our "stopped trying" wasn't different from our "trying" since we didn't think we were gonna get there without some assistance. Not the greatest timing for my job but we're super happy still.

I said yes, but it wasn't diligent planning and charting like it was with DD and DS. We just said, "we'll see what happens." After having 2 kids and charing with them, it's kinda hard to do that cuz I know my fertile signs. However, I thought we missed our chance that month. We had sex once, and I'm pretty sure it was 5-6 days before I ovulated. My due date rings true to that. We were both shocked cuz we thought the timing was off.

What is SS?

Anyways I say no. ESPECIALLY since I had my tubes clamped a year ago. LOL, so this is definately a SURPRISE for us!

Um, major surprise. I actually went in to have an IUD put in about a month after my annual, and was told I was pregnant with twins. We were using condoms, since I can't take any hormonal birth control...

Actually, only 3 of our 7 pregnancies were planned. Our first m/c (pg 1), Seth (pg 2), and Erin (pg 5).
