I really want to start running.. and my goal is to eventually run a 5K. how do i start the process? i know that I have to build up to running, but im not sure where or how to start? any recommendations?
I second "Couch to 5K." I didn't follow it exactly, but I sort of did the basic principle on my own. I did my farthest run ever so far today -- 4 1/4 miles! :-)
I track my runs on https://dailymile.com . It's a site that tracks your runs and friends can encourage each other on there. I'm the only Shaindel on there, if you want to be "friends." Happy running!
Like previous posts said....Couch 2 5k is a great program. When I started running I just started running. I ran as much as I could, walked when I needed to and started running as soon as I felt able again.
I went from only being about to run a quarter mile to now 8 miles is a breeze. It takes work and is a mental battle, but you can do it!
