DH and I told our immediate families about a week after we got our BFP, but now that we're nearing the 11 week mark, we're going to start telling our close friends. I'm not going to start really announcing things until my 12 week u/s, but this weekend and next weekend, we have plans to visit with two sets of friends we don't see very often, so we decided to go ahead and tell them. And the first visit is TONIGHT!
Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to share our news, but I'm also nervous. Not really sure why...maybe it's because for the last 10.5 weeks, our lives haven't changed all that much. But once everyone knows, everything will be different, this will all seem more real, and there'll be no going back. (Not that I want to go back, but you know what I mean...)
Anyone else feeling nervous about sharing your news? For any reason?
Re: Anyone else nervous to start actually telling people?
I'm still at the point where i'm super excited to get to tell family! I wanted to tell our parents ASAP but my DH wants to wait until the first appt which isn't until 2/3! I think he's crazy! haha!
However, i have a couple of girlfriends that are currently TTC as well. One is about to hit the year mark with zero success so i'm definitely nervous to tell her.
I think you should embrace how happy and excited you are and just know that everyone will be thrilled for you! Did anyone know you had been trying or will it be a complete surprise??
GL!
I told a few of my friends that I was starting to feel ready for a baby, but I haven't mentioned it any of them in months, so I"m guessing they'll be pleasantly surprised...which is the reaction I'm hoping for!
I remember I was nervous to tell our families...I guess just because I've never shared this sort of information with anyone before (and besides, I get nervous easily). But of course everyone was super excited and happy!

We found out last week and haven't told anyone yet. I actually don't think anyone will be excited or supportive, except my dad who has been trying to get grandkids out of me for years.
Just me though.
I'm definitely nervous about telling people. When we told our immediate families, no one was very excited for us. It was really disappointing. I don't want to go through that disappointment again with extended family and friends. I'd really like to put it off until I start showing, but I don't think dh would be on board with that.
I hope you get over your nervousness and that when you tell everyone is excited for you.
We expected my mother and grandparents to be very disapproving, (we're not exactly in a super great situation right now!!) but everyone's been totally psyched! I think people might surprise you

I think it's totally normal to be nervous!
I'm so newly pregnant that I want to share, but I'm still too worried something will happen.
