Is this color scheme too girly?

So for DS's birthday party I was thinking of going with a whale theme and use navy blue and turquoise, but DH said that turquoise is too girly. My shower was turquoise and orange so I have some turquoise stuff that I'd like to reuse. Would you use the same colors as the shower? My hostess gave me all the left over stuff so I have both turquoise and orange stuff I could use, what do you think?

Not too girly. It's a blue. If anything I think the classic baby blue is much more feminine than turquoise. And who cares? Why can't you use purple or pink if it works with the theme? My 8 yo nephew's favorite color is purple. I think it's fantastic.
