DD has been fully daytime PT'd for about 5 months. the last week or so, she's been waking up dry (until then she'd been soaking through a pull up). She has NEVER woken up to go potty. I told her if she went for a week waking up dry, we could switch to underpants at night. I didn't thikn that would happen, but yikes, we're about 2 days away from that happening.
Tell me it'll be alright and I won't wake up to a soaked mattress 3 mornings a week!!
Re: when to discontinue pull ups @ night?
We switched to undies at night a couple of months ago. Before that, she'd been daytime trained since last January, but still had a wet Pullup overnight occasionally. For the last few months, I'm talking like once a month, but it was still peace of mind for us knowing we wouldn't have to change sheets the next morning. :-) She's yet to wet the bed since we switched to undies.
Personally, I'd give it a few more weeks just to make sure. We started reusing the pullups if they were dry--she bathes right before bedtime, so I didn't feel that was terribly gross...LOL. But that way a regular pack would last us well over a month. But if she keeps up the good work, give it a shot!
DD1 started waking up dry around four months after she was daytime PTed, and then I waited another month or so before giving up the bedtime diapers. It really was almost sudden for us too; it was like one morning she woke up with a soaking wet diaper, and the next she was dry and never wet again. Still, I didn't want to deal with any accidents, and I had diapers to use up anyway, so I prolonged it, probably longer than necessary. She rarely has to go to the bathroom during the night, but if she does, she'll come into our room and let me know.
You could be fine switching in a couple days, but if I were you, I'd probably try to hold off at least another week just to be safe.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
DS has been daytime PT since August and pretty much right away started staying dry at night. We made the switch to underpants at night in September and we've had one wet bed since. But DS doesn't wake up at night to go to the bathroom.
I think we're just lucky that he got my super bladder. I wish I knew the secret... PT was super easy with DS... I'm sure baby #2 will make up for it.
