She fat LOL - 4 lbs in 4 weeks!!!!

I guess despite all the constipation, formula switching and everything else, L was not having trouble intaking calories. I didn't notice until a day or 2 ago, but she started looking pleasantly plump (she was a runt at the hospital being only 6lbs 10 oz when we left). Well, yesterday proved me right, in 4 weeks, she's a whopping 10 lbs 2 oz. that's almost a pound a week and believe me, she looks like it. Her little cheeks are just so fat you can't help but kiss on them. Her little legs are filled out, her tummy looks like a basketball, and she is filling out her 0-3 month clothes. I can't believe it. She's starting to look like a baby that belongs in this house LOL (my boys were both over 10 lbs at 2 weeks, so she was looking very scrawny to me before).

How's the day going for your little ones?

  • God bless her! She's a cutie, too!

My chunky monkey (as her pediatrician calls her) gained almost 3 lbs in 4 weeks but I know why-- she went from having to be woken up to eat where we'd have to go as far as taking off her socks to make her cold (good trick for those of you having feeding issues) to now, having to slow her down as she wants 4 oz and screams when she's hungry. lol

  • I could have written this about DS!  He was 6 lbs 9 oz when we brought him home, but has been gaining around 1 lbs a week!  (we go to a breastfeeding center weekly for a mommy group so I get to weigh him!)  Hes 10 lbs 3 oz as of yesterday when he hit 4 weeks!  If he keeps growing like this I'll never be able to pick him up in his carseat!

Thank you, dear! We are in love.

Now isn't Leila a doll?! So cute! Her brothers must be proud.

I'm usually on here lurking. I was waiting for everyone to have their babies so we can get on with the fun topics - parenting. The board seems to have come alive again.

  • Love her cheeks! My LO has gained 2lbs in 5 weeks, which I was very happy with since she only weighed 6lbs, 6oz and was 4 days overdue. We found out we had an issue with my placenta, which lead to the low birth weight.

Yay for the babies all gaining weight and filling out! :)

  • This whole post has made me feel so much better. My DS was born at 7lbs 9oz and he's four weeks old today. Earlier this week his doctor made me feel guilty and told me I was 'way' over feeding him because he weighs 10lbs 13oz. After looking over the posts here of the little ones close to his age it sounds just about average to me.

  • OMG those cheeks are adorable!  Violet was up to 6lbs 15oz at her last appointment on Friday so she's over 7lbs now!  She was born at 4lbs 11oz and dropped down to 4lbs 3oz in the NICU.  She's finally filling out.
