My in laws never cease to amaze me! (long rant)

And I don't just mean my mil/fil, though they are the worst offenders.

My DH is the baby of 5, we lived away for 10yrs and all we heard was that they couldn't wait for us to move back to spend time, help out etc...well, we moved back and they are the most useless bunch ever. I got zero help or support when Lydia was born, in fact, they all each only visited once and expected to be fed and entertained. Zero help & support with dh's knee surgery over Christmas. They don't even offer to do anything,Ike send a freaking casserole. They are completely selfish and self absorbed. I guess what bugs me the most is that his parents fall all over themselves helping his sister -I mean ridiculous stuff like going over to babysit so she can get a shower, picking kids off the bus so she doesn't have to take the 4yr old to the corner bus stop.

Anyway, it is our nephew's 18th bday (not the same one from the FB incident) and his birthday dinner is tonight. Not a single one of my ils can be bothered to go besides DH and I. Mil is going to freaking bingo which she goes to3-4x per week and fil is going to his Friday night guys night at the pub. The rest basically aren't coming because they don't want to buy their own dinner. Seriously?! Come have a drink or an appetizer and be on your merry way. My bil, sil and nephew are so hurt. I cannot even imagine. They are not ones to hold Their tongues to this could get ugly!

We had cake and ice cream last week on Eliza's birthday (just grandparents) and my mil made some ridiculous comment about us havIng two parties(her family party is tmrw) Um, sorry, thought you might like to see her on her day and have cake.

The favoritism in this family is so out of control I cannot even stand it anymore! DH is done too. I feel like a big blowout is brewing. I could go on and on and I know this is all over the place, so I apologize.

In an update to the FB incident, there have been zero consequences - he still has fb, phone, car, etc...but another parent did get involved. My sil has tried to call me to discuss, but we are playing phone tag.

That is so rude for nephew. I mean you cant miss bingo for one night? I would be done as well, especially after other nephew fb bullying someone.

Wow. What douchebags. I'm sorry for your nephew (the good one). What a crappy situation.

And holy crap, I can't believe your bully nephew is getting away with it. Horrible. I bet if someone called the cops and showed them screen shots of what he was saying they'd be forced to do something. Just saying.
