Who needs babies when you've got men?

Rather irritated with DH, but I'm trying not to be. Got a positive on the OPK yesterday morning. When the time came to BD (after DS was in bed), he started complaining about how he was sick and he wasn't sure if it was a good time...Asked if we could wait until tomorrow (which is today). I was like, "you'll be just fine." (He has a COLD... congested nose and a pretty decent cough, but still... It's a cold.) Long story short, things did not work out...and not for lack of trying on my part. I KNOW it's all in his head. When he decides beforehand that something won't work, his subconsious takes over and MAKES it not work.

So, I tested again this AM, and was back to negative on the OPK. Did some morning BD'ing for good measure (everything worked just fine this morning), but I'm afraid we've missed our best opportunity. Damnit DH. Why are guys such major wimps when they're "sick"???

Do you temp? How was your temp this morning? If you haven't spiked yet than you're totally fine with waiting until this morning.

I have issues with my DH and that stuff too. He wasn't feeling well during my fertile window this cycle and, while he did manage to rally a couple of times, one time even waking me up in the middle of the night, he also managed to "get out of it" a couple of times and I felt like I totally had to hound him for it, which is never fun.

That must be very frustrating to not be able to BD when you know you might be ovulating....however try to see his side. When you're sick, even with just a cold you can feel pretty miserable and not very sexy. Plus trying to kiss when you can only breathe through your mouth you sound like a beast, lol. That being said, MH is a major baby when he is sick.

Remember you likely O 12-36 hours after a +OPK (if you do indeed O) so not doing it until this morning, you should still be covered. FX for you!

Sorry you weren't able to BD but hopefully you still have good timing!

I loved the title to your post...its so true. My DH is a man's man and tough and everything but once the sniffles kick in its so bad! Men are so funny when they are sick, while women just push through everything. I secretly roll my eyes, when I hear his throat "tickles"...lol

Try not to stress. Nothing you can do about it now. I think you still have good timing though because you may O 12-36 hrs after the first positive. FX for you. Did you do it the night before the positive?

My husband gave me the "I'm not in the mood speech one time" so we got in an argument and then he stupidly said that from now on we'll only do it when I O. I said fine and left it at that. After a few weeks went by he finally figured out just how pissed I was. Now he never complains lol
