still no progress...:-(

I went in for my 40 week check-up today since I'm 39 weeks 6 days, and when she checked me my cervix is still closed. So disheartening. She told me that if I am still pregnant by next thursday at my appointment they will induce me. More than ever I'm wanting to go into labor just to avoid being induced. I'm a mess of nerves. Anyone have a positive induction story? I just want to meet my little girl.

    I'm sorry! I was induced with my last pregnancy- short & sweet, even at 37 1/2 weeks. Started full pit at midnight, broke my water at 0630, had my son at 1:49pm that afternoon. If I could have as easy/short labor than I did last time I'll be happy!

    Ugh so sorry, this close to our EDD I know you want to see some progress.  Just look at all the birth stories where people went from nothing to labor in 24 hours, hang in there girly!

    I did every OWT in the book in case there was any chance there was a thread of truth to them and it didn't stop me from being induced this morning.  It hasn't been bad, just long.  We came in at 8 and I was 1cm.  I'm at about 4 now and they started the pit an hour ago.  But things are progressing! Not that contractions don't hurt but it's been more boring than anything else.  So I can't say that it's been a bad experience!  Granted my baby hasn't been born yet so things can always change but at this point I don't think i could blame anything bad happening due to being induced.

    And can I just say how scared I was of being induced?  I've been freaking out about it for the past 8 days since my dr brought it up.  I really wanted baby to come on his own but with low amniotic fluid levels I'm obviously happier to be induced than for anything bad to happen to DS. 

    Good luck! Don't forget that we hear more bad things about induction than good things...
