So I'm sure many of you know of Courtney Roth and her son Tripp from their blog. A few people on here have a link in their signature to her blog: https://www.randycourtneytripproth.blogspot.com/. Courtney actually just blogged today that Tripp has taken a turn for the worse and he isn't expected to be with her much longer.....so, so sad.
I've been reading it regularly since I was pregnant with Gavin, and her story has made me not only eternally thankful for Gavin's health, but deeply inspired by what she does for her son with such strength and love. The pain Tripp goes through all day every day just breaks my heart.
Ever since reading her blog, I've wanted to help in some way. So I signed up to run in a half marathon, which is actually coming up way too soon on January 22nd. I am not a regular runner, nor am I a huge fan of running, but I wanted a serious challenge. I'm doing the run as a fundraiser, to raise money for the organization that helps families of children with EB like Tripp....DebRA.org. I'm just short of my goal of $1,000. Just thought I would put it out there and share the link with you lovely ladies. If you would like to donate, even just $1, that would be wonderful. If you aren't in a position to donate (I know how it is...we are trying to buy a house and already struggle with rent and daycare costs), even just some words of encouragement would be wonderful. I've never run more than 6 miles at a time, so 13.1 is going to be a serious challenge. But Tripp is my inspiration and motivation, and I just wanted to share this with all of you. Thanks!

Re: Running for Tripp
Thank you so much for doing this. I just donated - not a ton but I wanted to help. I follow Courtney and Tripp's blog, too and her post today just absolutely broke my heart. I read it in tears and wanted to wake DD up from her nap and just hold her. I am so grateful for a healthy baby and hate all the pain poor Tripp goes through each day. I hope he finds peace soon...I have been praying for it.
Thank you!
Someone's getting a little brother!
What a great way for you to do something for the cause! And what a strong little boy and what a strong momma as well. God bless them!
By all means, feel free to share anywhere and everywhere. The more people who see this, the better chance to raise more money for DebRA!
Thank you to those of you who have already donated! It means a lot!
Awesome! I've done 2 half-marathons for a cause (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). It makes the accomplishment that much sweeter.
While you're out there running, it helps to remember all that Tripp and Courtney have endured and that your sore and tired legs and heavy breathing are really a gift because it means you are healthy enough to run.
Good luck!!!
