Do you believe in ghosts?

I don't. I do love me some Ghost whisperer though. And now my 2 year old is obsessed with ghosts. She talks about ghosts all the time. I think it's funny and shows she has an awesome imagination. My mom seems to think she really sees ghosts. Dog ghosts to be exact. lol

So do you believe?

I don't, per se, but I feel I am being very naive if I say I don't think there are some sort of spirits or something lurking about...hhmmmm...

I definately do- because I have seen them. Twice. And my husband has also seen them. We both come from families of "see-er's", so I fully expect that my child will see them, as well.

One time I woke up from taking a nap and there was a woman standing in the corner of my room looking at me. I as an adult, not on any drugs, fully awake, in the middle of the afternoon. I stared at her for as long as I could before I had to blink, and she was gone. I was not afraid, and she left behind the scent of lavender, which is a smell I associate with my childhood because every once and a while I would catch whiffs of it.

The second time was not so nice, so I won't explain.

I do believe that some people get trapped in the afterlife. My grandma has had some weird occurances happen at her house that she knows is my grandpa. I went along on a ghost hunt with a group my cousin is involved in, and the stuff that happened that night made me believe even more, because I felt things/people playing with my hair, and talking.

Now I'm totally curious! I have no ghost stories of my own, but I am the type of person who believes anything is possible. I find personal ghost experiences intruiging and scary at the same time.

I don't know if there are ghosts, or echoes, or whatever you want to call them. But I did see my Grandaddy walk through the house at Christmas in 2005. He was wearing a white shirt and dark pants with suspenders like he always did. I was so surprised that I followed him into the kitchen. He passed away in 1994. That's the only time in my life I've experienced anything odd like that, so I just leave my opinion on the matter open.

I definitely believe in the possibility of a spirit being stuck in between life and the afterlife and frankly, it terrifies me because of the possibility of an angry spirit being stuck (Yeah, I'm a sucker for Ghost Hunters...). I think I got this from my full-blooded Italian grandmother. Italian women are known for this. Smile

I have to admit that one time while DH was out late, my little pup starting freaking out barking and ran down to the landing. I know for 100% FACT that I heard a male's voice (that sounded just like my DH's) say, "It's okay Mags." And she stopped barking that second. I called Jeff, and he was still at his friend's house, so now way it was him and all of our doors were locked. That day we had brought my DH's late father's belongings into our home from his grandfather's. I have no doubt that he visits us from time to time.

I do believe in 'ghosts' but not in the way that hollywood makes them out to be (scary and threatening). I don't doubt that loved ones that have passed on surround us

I haven't had any personal experiences with seeing ghosts in actual physical human form, but I have had instances of feelings that certain loved ones were with me or around me at that moment. *think Greys Anatomy when Izzy feels Denny standing beside her*

I do, but that is because of to many experiences. Also, my son has claimed to talk to my grandma who had passed when I was 12 weeks pregnant with him.

Like PP, I have an open mind. I have never had an encounter myself, but my best friend in elementary-middle school claimed her & her mom had a few. Their stories were kind of creepy, and I never knew what to think of it.

And like another person already said, I don't believe in the "Hollywood" type ghosts. I don't believe they're out to get/hurt/kill people... but I do believe souls can still be present on Earth before moving on.

DH and I both do. He's seen one, I haven't really. But one time we did go on a ghost tour of an old fort, and someone took a picture on their digital camera and there was seriously something very weird in that picture!

Although I've never seen one, I do believe in spirits. Especially after Tuesday night...

My grand-pop and I were extremely close, but I lost him when I was in 4th grade. I've often had very realistic dreams that involved him, but Tuesday night sealed the deal! I have been a very worrisome pregnant lady recently between dr. appointments and hearing LO's heartbeat. (I've recently had a close friend lose a baby around this time in her 2nd trimester...). So we had an appointment scheduled for Weds. after work. When I woke up Tuesday morning, all my worries seemed to disappear. I had a dream that night that I was in my grandparent's old apartment and my poppop came home with an U/S machine. He hooked it up and we spent time looking at the baby, and all he kept telling me was "look, the baby's okay, everything is going to be okay..."

I woke up completely at peace and am convinced that he visited me to help ease my worries.

Umm... to reply to my previous posting about the "not so nice" thing-

My hubby and I were staying with his dad while visiting in NY. I was asleep in the bedroom, my hubby was out in the living room watching some late-night TV. I opened my eyes and saw a woman standing facing the closet- and she was utterly motionless, like a picture. But her eyes and mouth were wide open, like she was screaming at something. At that moment I heard the closet door open, and the sound like that an old typewriter makes- a clackety clack sound.

I screeched my husbands name and he came running in. I don't know what was in the closet.

However, when I told him he told me of an incident his mother had, and that she actually saw what was in the closet, and that it was not human-looking, and what was making that clacking noise.

We stay in a hotel now when we visit. It was the single most terrifying thing that ever happened to me, and I used it to start a book that I am trying to get published!

I believe. Although I'm completely terrified of coming into contact with one. And I am absolutely terrified by this thread, I hate scary things and the clackety clack thing is freaking me out... I do not like it. I also believe that children and animals can see things that we can't. Personally I'm glad I can't see them and have no desire to at all. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep at all now. Dang it. But on the other thing... I was raised that animals don't have souls, but I honestly don't know what to think... I can't imagine my doggies with their quirky personalities not having souls, but then I can't imagine a cow having a soul, and I don't think it would be just certain types of animals that have them, if one does they all do.... but then humans are animals too, so where does that leave us? Not really sure. Animals (besides humans) are innocents. They can't really be evil... so in short... I have no idea. But thanks for scaring the poo out of me. Stick out tongue
