How long will it take? RR to San Marcos?

How long do you think it would take to get from RR to San Marcos if we leave at around 9 am?  What about heading back home around 2?

I'm trying to plan a field trip so this would be on a bus and I need to avoid tolls.  When I drive, I take the toll roads and avoid 35 so I have no idea how traffic is (bad, I assume).  I just don't know how long to plan for travel time.

Thanks!

  • It takes me 55 minutes on the toll road from Pf.  So on a bus, no toll roads, I would think around an hour and 15 minutes?  Maybe longer coming back.

  • I used to drive from exit 255 in rr to exit 6 (I think) in sm for school.

If I left at 9 I'd be there for a 10 am class. Usually it's about and hour in my car. I'd guess a bit longer in a bus.

  • I can get to north SM(campus) from north RR in about 40 minutes during non commuter times. I would think at 9am the traffic would be fine.
  • Just want to correct fjaril's exit numbers. I go from exit #189 (here in NB) to #240 (N183 exit) on a monthly basis and it always takes me an hour. I go about 75-80mph. If you are driving with kids, i'd say plan for at least an hour, expect maybe longer.
