It's a rainy cold crappy day. Yesterday and tomorrow are busy days with appointments, etc. so I decided today would be a lazy day. H is away and P and I aren't leaving the house today. I posted on FB "Sometimes I love rainy PJs-all-day kind of days."
Now i'm getting blown up with comments about how "it must be nice" and "SAHMs have it made" bla bla bla.
I know i'm beating a dead horse here, but I had to vent. These comments piss me off and I should have known better than to post that status.
Re: ugh, I should know better (re: FB)
ugh I'd have to reply with something snarky about how I've been running around for the past 8 days straight plus had a rough night with the baby, and I have a lot to do the rest of the week so I thought I deserved a break since you get one from work every weekend and I don't.
But then again I'm on day 3 of a miserable headache and am feeling a bit b!tchy
Enjoy your pj day, you've deserved it!
Ugh. I hate that kind of facebook stuff. It makes me want to block anyone from being able to comment on my posts.
Some people I like in real life, but cannot stand the stuff they say on facebook.
the first few comments... now the non-dad and WM friend are just going back and forth. LOL
former coworker (male): Must be nice...
me: yep, it's one of the benefits of my new gig
Friend (WM): Sometimes I am jealous of your job....like today..... :P
non-mom acquaintance: sometimes? how about all the time?
non-dad acquaintance: job? she doesn't work! LOL
me: LOL (non-mom acq) wait till you have a teething, sick cranky kid that won't sleep for 24+ hrs. It's not all cheerios and playdates. But snuggly days like today make up for it!
different WM friend: Umm, ya. being a parent IS a job, Dbag. Linds, I remember teething and those not sleeping days! Enjoy your PJ day!
and it goes on...
I'd ask them what they do on their days off. Oh, and how much time they get off work for sick/vacation days.
Or maybe say something along the lines of "yeah, today is casual Thursday instead of casual Friday" to kind of drive home the point that regardless of what you're wearing you're still "at work".
It's nice that you are getting support! Your non-dad acquaintance reminds me of a non-dad acquaintance I have who over does the 'make me a sammich' jokes.
Ugh, that is so annoying. Especially since it's coming from your "friends."
One time I posted something SAH related on FB and a girl I went to HS with said "must be nice to SAH, by the time I get home from work I only see my kids for 2 hours." I was so pissed. She is entitled to feel that way and I don't blame her but she just wrote that to make me feel bad.
I liked reading the comments people are leaving on your FB! Let us know if anything interesting happens! :P
When anyone starts a sentence with "must be nice" I don't even hear anything that comes after it. Bitter. Sad. We use it as a joke now!
Same here!
Frankly, I'm still in my pjs. As in actual pajamas (not just comfy pants and a t-shirt). They're comfortable and I just don't see the point of making more clothes dirty just so I can say I wore something different. DH doesn't care. I still do the laundry, clean the house, load the dishwasher, etc. I'm not rolling in dirt or anything so they don't get stained or wrecked (and I do change if I'm working with bleach). On chilly dreary days like today I throw a sweatshirt on over my pjs and go about my day. Later I'll change into my workout stuff, shower and put on new pjs.

I would of said something back along the lines of not getting 10 min breaks every 2 hrs and lunch breaks every day and days off during the week, etc.
But I don't think many of my FB friends would reply with something like that since they know I'm a b!tch and would say something rude back
