for mom's of 1+...is it too soon?

I am going insane wanting to get back in shape, work out of any kind. My daughter will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. When did you start working out? We would go for walks but today it started snowing so that is out of the question. I know it's probably to soon for an intense workout but I was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions. I have already lost 20lbs since she was born...20 more to go till Im back to my pre pg weight. But on the bright side I fit into my pre pg clothes!!

TIA :)

  • Short answer? Yes, it's too soon. You can always walk, but you need to wait until your OB releases you to really start exercising! You just had a baby, your body needs a few more weeks to relax & heal. Give it a little more time.

  • Agreed, you'll get your "post pardum" checkup, and that's when your Gyno will give you the 'all-clear' to work out.

That being said, there isn't anything wrong with walking and I think the amount I picked up LO from the basinnet should count as a workout.
