my left boob just umped over 5 ounces in less than 7 minutes??????  AND its still going strong

  • That is pretty awesome, but sounds like oversupply.  Your two week old probably only eats about 2-3 oz per feeding at this point.  And getting too much foremilk can lead to a really gassy and uncomfortable baby as the foremilk is easy to digest and just runs through their bowels causing major gas pains and green frothy stools.  Check out kellymom.com - the most resourseful breastfeeding site in existance!

    At this point your supply is adjusting itself so sometimes you may get more ounces than other times. Agree the kellymom is so helpful!

    No green poops as of yet.  I am all thrown off bc of pumping and bf due to my nipples.  when i try to ween off pumping my nipples cant take it. i saw that website and will adjust my position as well as extract milk before i nurse

  • I have oversupply too.  I pump once a day immediately after a feeding and get about 8-12oz in less than 10 minutes.  My LO also only takes maybe 10 minutes for a few meal and he's only 3 weeks old.  I mostly pump because I'm engorged, I know pumping just increases my supply but I can't help it, it hurts!
