Caroline was sick yesterday. Four episodes of vomiting and one really disgusting diaper.
She was up at 3:30 this morning, and would NOT go back to sleep. She's eating and drinking and everything is staying down, so far.
I'm not having any luck getting her to drink pedialyte (or even pedialyte mixed with water), and she hasn't had a wet diaper since late yesterday afternoon.
My mother always withheld dairy if we were sick, and that has just sort of stuck with me. She's fever free, so its fine to give her milk now, right?
I need to get her wetting...and since she won't drink the pedialyte, I need another option.
Thoughts??

I usually wait 2 to 3 days.
DD gets the throw-up stomach virus at least once a year....I made the mistake of giving her milk 24 hours after her last episode and she threw it up a few hours later.
For keeping hydrated I used ice water.
DD wouldnt drink pedialyte or even watered down gatorade.
I hope your DD feels better soon.

I waited 2 days - our pedi said 2-3 days. Eliza wouldn't drink the Gatorade, pedis lyre or coconut water either, but she did want water so we went with that. We did have some luck with the pedis lute Popsicles, but only once before she decided they were yucky. I also offered banana & applesauce from the brat diet bc the water content is high.
We are still dealing with random bad poops here a full week out.
Good luck,
I'd wait a few days.
My boys had it and continued to vomit when they had any dairy for a few days, even when I felt they were getting "better."
For pedialite, I used a medicine syringe to get it down them. They would take it like that, but not in a sippy.
The syringe is such a great idea!!! Thanks!
I wait at least a couple of days.
DD won't touch pedialtye so we go with 7-Up. She loves it so wolfs it down and rehydrates fast. Our pedi suggested it.
My "rule" is 24 hours after vomiting, but my pedi said get them to drink whatever they will, regardless of how long it's been. If the only thing she'll drink is milk then I'd give it to her. Definitely don't want her getting dehydrated. Our go to is watered down gatorade (not the best, I know) or ice pops.
I hope she feels better soon
