Nanny situation - advice?

I don't post often anymore...just a lurker for the last 2 years. But I need some help figuring out what to do and am hoping y'all can help. Long story short we hired a new nanny (after previous one left with no notice) and she has only been with us since early December. She needed 10 days off at Christmas for a pre-planned trip home for Christmas and we worked that out so she could go. Well after I spent 10+ days at home with the girls over the holidays and the closer DD #2 gets to age 2 the more I think she needs more structure and would love to go to a Montessori school like her older sister. There is also just something in my gut saying the current situation just isn't right for us/DD 2. So as of yesterday I decided to enroll DD #2 in a school. But I feel awful about telling the nanny since we JUST hired her. :-( I'm trying to figure out what I "owe" her. Thoughts?

ETA: I'll probably DD this later. And yay for my poll working!! I've never ever been able to get it to work all these years!!

But which ONE Mollie??? :-) Obviously I don't want to throw money away if I don't "need" to. But I don't want to be cheap either. She is a sweet girl and I do feel bad.

P.S. I'm trying out ANC this Sunday. :-)

Hey you! Good to see you out of hiding.

I voted for the middle option. I'd feel like that was more than fair if I were the nanny.

AAAHH!H!!!!! YAY!! you may already know this, but just in case, it isn't going to be a typical service. the african children's choir is putting on a 40 min show, so i'm guessing no real 'message'. just making sure you know in case you are hoping for a regular service! we will be there at 11!

I like the middle option too!

Wonder if anyone here would be able to use her since she will be unemployed soon. What part of town does she prefer? What is her rate? We would have really liked to find a great Nanny, but I did not know where to start to look for one. I did not know where to go for a referral.......

If she is good, this could be an option for me. You can send me a PM with any details you are willing to share.

I voted for the middle option. I think all three are perfectly fair, but the middle choice seems to be the kindest and the one most likely to help keep the relationship positive if you should ever need her nanny services or even babysitting services in the future.
