Hi ladies
I've had the Britax B-Ready (doubles mode) for 12m now and absolutely LOVE the stroller. I actually had the City Select and returned it b/c I thought it was too long and hard to steer. I've never had a problem with the B-Ready until last weekend. We were strolling through an outdoor shopping area and my 12m old was in the back (2.5 year old up front) and I heard my son sneeze and then scream bloody murder. I figured he bit his tongue or something when he sneezed, so I picked him up, checked his mouth, and he calmed down, so we started walking again. We got to a restaurant and I was putting him in the high chair and out of the corner of my eye, so his finger was bright red. It had a blister, so it was either pinched or burned, it was also very swollen. I immediately thought of the stroller - did he get his finger caught in the rear wheel?! My 2.5 year old EASILY touches the rear wheels, but she's old enough to understand that if she touches it, she'll get a "boo boo". So she doesn't touch it. I called Britax and they told me it was IMPOSSIBLE for him to touch the wheels (it does have a guard on the inside and top of the wheel), that they've tested it and have never had complaints. I took pictures of he and my daughter both properly strapped in (shoulder and waist harness) and I show them how she can easily touch it, and how he leans to the side and grabs the wheel.
I'm disappointed b/c I feel that they are dismissing me. They keep telling me I'm the only person who has complained (one other mom on the Britax FB page did complain), and they've tested it with differed sized children and it's impossible. They did tell me they are coming out with a new wheel - they sent me a pic and the design is 2 spokes, rather than the 5 or 6 it has. I explained that that doesn't matter - once one of the spokes comes around, it will crush the finger. Then the woman told me that it will be a new black color. Like my kid is touching the wheel b/c of the color?!!
Anyways, I think it's great with a toddler an an infant - we got a great 12 months out of it, but I can no longer put my son back there, and my 2.5 year old has recently started to protest being in the back.
Re: RP: PSA re: Britax B-Ready with 2nd seat
I totally remember when you bought that stroller and how thrilled you were with it! (can you believe they are one already...totally blows my mind). I can not believe that britax is dismissing that!!! Unbelievable. I hope that his finger is alright.
If they know how much you loved the stroller and how highly you spoke of it. Did you write a formal letter of complaint?
That is terrible.
I know, it's so sad they are 1 - time flies!!! And I LOVE the stroller, aside from this (major) mishap! I have spoken with them several times and they send me pictures of newly designed wheels, etc. that don't fix the problem. They need to continue the wheel guard all the way down - I don't see why that's so hard to fix!!

Ugh sorry they are not listening to you. I think you can do a formal complaint with the us product safety committee.
This is one reason we chose the city select. Neither of my boys can reach the wheels and can see out. Of course my 2.5yo doesn't fit in the city select seat anymore. He can sit in it for a little bit but he's much more comfortable in the double bob. Strollers drive me crazy!
Exactly what I was going to say. You should have gotten commission for your advocacy. I remember your multiple pictures and everything... Such a bummer.
