Help! LO is NOT sleeping at night... At all!

My DD#2 is 5 weeks old and idk if she has her days and nights confused, but honestly, I am getting about an hours worth of sleep at night at the most... If she goes to sleep she is waking up for 3 to 5 hours at a time... Then if she goes to sleep again, she wakes up as soon as I put her down! I rock her for 15 to 30 min after she goes to sleep usually to make sure she's good and asleep before going to lay down myself, but it is not working... I also have a 2.5 year oldso I can't sleep in the day. Has anyone else been through this and if so what did you do???

My daughter is also 5 weeks old, and she is sleeping from like 8:30 or 9 til 11, eating, waking up and the last 2 nights, won't go back to sleep until 3:30ish eating, then sleeping til about 8 or 9. Most of the time though, she will only sleep for a good amount of time if she is on my chest while I sleep in the big recliner. She will sleep though in her rock n play if I know for sure she is dead asleep when I put her down. I know she is asleep by doing the heavy arm trick. If I raise her arm and drop it, and she doesn't flinch, I could pretty much do anything and she won't wake up. But LO is really still confused about days and nights for the most part....we are working on making sur that she knows when it's day time but Turing on lights, opening blinds, getting her outside and then at night, making it dark, and quiet....hoping it starts working for her soon!

DD#2 is 5 weeks also and her days and nights are terrible. She's happy and content during the day, and at night she's uncomfy and her tummy bothers her and sleep is something I dream of. Her normal routine is to sleep from 10pm-1am, 1:30am-4am, 4:30am-6am, and then she's up from 6am-8 or 9am before she crashes for a 4 hours stretch. However, during those sleeps, I have to be holding her, or she's fidgeting and fussy. I don't know what to do!
