Take 18mo to Preschool Open Houses?

Hi girls!  We are planning to visit 4 preschool open houses for our (currently) 18 month old so he can hopefully start in the fall.  My question is, do you take the kid to the open houses or not?  I was thinking no, mainly because I don't want to be chasing him down while holding the 2 month old.

 What'd y'all do?  TIA :)

    I would take him. I'd want to see how well the teachers interacted with him and how he responded to the environment. I'd try to find someone to watch the two month old or at a minimum try to wear the baby or take dh with you for an extra set of hands.

    Ditto pp.  We took both of our sons when we were looking at preschools a few years ago.  We wanted to get a sense of how the teachers interacted with him and how comfortable he felt with the teachers, the director and in the school environment.  Our youngest was 3 months old at the time and we had him in the snap n go.

    It depends if kids are allowed. Most schools have ones with kids and ones without. If it is with kids I would bring him.

     Agreed. The of the ones we have been to are more formal settings that  start with a talking through what the school is about, questions then they do a tour. the classes are usually in sessions teaching the students so there isn't interactions going on with you and the rest of the tour.

    I would just call and see what kind of open house it is...are you supposed to be able to ask questions and focus on a presentation, or is it a "meet the teacher" kind of setting?  Our school hosts both kinds, so you can attend both and cover all your bases.
