Running and Braxton Hicks Anyone?

I am in the middle of my 28th week of my first pregnancy and over the past few runs I think I have started to experience Braxton Hicks contractions.  They are only about 30 seconds long and sometimes I can jog through them, other times I have to start walking slowing.  Does this sound like Braxton Hicks to any experienced pregnant ladies or ladies who know what Braxton Hicks feel like?

Re: Running and Braxton Hicks Anyone?

  • Yes! I get them everytime I work out. I just slow down and they ease up. I mentioned it to my midwife yesterday and she was not concerned.

  • I get them when I jog/walk fast, usually more in the beginning of work out and they calm down, and they always stop after I work out so I don't worry too much

  • Same here. My midwife said it's just the uterus getting a bit irritated from all of the jostling, but no big deal. She did say not to push too hard and slow down if they become bothersome.

  • I'm not running now, but I do get them when I'm walking on the treadmill.

  • Yup! I'm 31 weeks and get them when I'm running. Just slow down until it passes :)
