So, today has started out beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad stuff -
Last night L was a fussy mc-fusserton. It never lasts more than an hour, but at around 9pm, she'll get super fussy and won't sleep.
She had still been super constipated and gassy.
Good stuff-
Called a nutritionist yesterday because my doctor's recommendation for L's constipation was, "Well if you have to put Karo syrup or apple juice in every bottle, then that's fine. Just help her get some relief." WTH So I called my son's pedi (I had switched to this a$$hat) and he referred me to a nutritionist. She told me to put her on Isomil Soy formula and try the concentrate instead of powder. She said L sounds like she has a class milk protein allergy. I switched her at 5pm yesterday. She had one more constipated bowel movement, since then she has had 2 normal poops, and she is not fussy at all. She is also taking more formula now and overall seems to happy.
Doc cleared me today!!! Woot, I can have sex again.
Because L is not screaming bloody murder all day, I feel so much better and so much more relaxed, which in turn has her feeling so much more relaxed.
Re: so,maybe it was a milk protein allergy
I'm glad things seem figured out!
I'm just starting to run into this problem, I think Sloane has a milk allergy too. The nurse said she's only seen one baby fuss like her and it was due to a milk allergy. She's also starting to get constipated and up all night grunting and trying to poop. Her poops are becoming less frequent too.
the nutritionist said that frequency means nothing, it's the result that is an issue. If she poops and it is getting harder and coming out like little pellets (or in L's case, large hard rocks) that is constipation. If Sloane is having similar issues, i would start making changes sooner rather than later. Are you bfing or ffing?
I do notice the beginning of the poop is much more 'solid' then what comes out after. I'm mixing BM and formula. I usually do BM in the mornings and then slowly move to formula through out the day. She seems happier with formula for the most part. I think I should just do a day or two of straight formula and see how she does.
Even when my mom was here she said 'I don't think she likes your breast milk'
have you cut dairy out of your diet? That's what I had to do and now Little A is much happier.
Yes, if you are cutting dairy out of your diet, you need to change the formula or she is still getting milk and you won't see a change from the bm.
That's great! We had to put DD#1 on Similac Isomil too because she had lots of poop issues. I'm glad things are turning in a more positive direction and L is feeling better.
Also congrats on getting cleared for sex. I'm nervous about that, but I've seen in previous posts that you were ready for that green light! Hopefully L doesn't fuss too much and you and your hubby can spend some time together!
