Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~

  • QOTW: Hospital bag is definitely not packed yet. :)

This time around, I'll definitely be bringing my twin nursing pillow. Other essentials are my own pillow, camera, some comfy PJs and baby nail clippers.

Update: No big updates. I'm still so relieved to not be sick 24/7 and I've been really productive around the house doing some deep cleaning and organizing that went on the back burner for the first 16 weeks. I feel absolutely enormous compared to how my belly was at this point in pregnancy with DS. We have our anatomy scan in about 2 weeks and I'm really looking forward to seeing 2 healthy babies.

I have started to feel the babies kick, which is really fun. I can feel B more than A because of the positions of their placentas.

  • QOTW:  Hospital bag is not packed - I haven't even thought of it!  I guess I'll check back here and see what you gals recommend!

Updates:  We've been doing a purging at our house to make room for the baby (probably what we should have done when we got married - but we could never agree on what to give away). We've got her room all cleared out now, painted, and we bought and assembled the crib!  Now I just need to work on the room details!  Oh, and my addiction to pinterest keeps getting worse - I've got so many baby projects tagged to do, I'll be busy until she's in kindergarten =).

  • QOTW: No, I need to get on that.  I've been such a slacker this time around.  Must haves: hair ties, chapstick, nursing tanks, comfy pants & socks, digital camera, video camera, toys and snacks for L (and us!).  Can't remember what else to pack!

Updates: Feeling pretty good.  I finally ordered all of the last-minute things needed for the baby and have been in full nesting mode getting everything in order for her arrival. I've also started making some freezer meals.  I hope to have at least 2 weeks of meals stashed away before the baby comes.

Other than that, nothing new to report.

  • QOTW: Bags are packed and in DH's trunk.  I figure, the more I can get out of the way the better.  The birthing center gave us a list of things so I just put that stuff in there and added just a couple of items based off recommendations from others.  Nothing major stands out- except maybe chapstick and the boppy.  Everyone has said to include those but they weren't on the list.

Updates:  I can't believe how fast time has gone so far and how slow it's going now!  I'm just ready to get this show on the road and meet this little one.  (When she's ready, of course.)  Most days I'm feeling pretty good, just a little achy all over.  Yesterday was a crappy day; I just felt like crying all day long but today is off to a better start.  I think it's just kind of setting in that we're getting close and I'm overwhelmed with things I need to do, feelings, etc.

  • QOTW: No, and just bringing the usual. My MIL will be taking care of DS also and will be up and down from the hospital a lot, so she'll be able to ferry anything we forget.

Update: SO tired. Had an U/S Monday and found out little girl is likely going to be jumbo sized like her older brother, so most likely I will be having another c-section. I'm ok with it, but was really hoping she would be more like the females on DH's side (small framed and petite), but looks like she'll take after me.

  • QOTW: Obviously no bag packed for me yet Smile but I am very interested to see what you ladies are packing!!

Update: Last Thursday I was walking down our hallway and almost blacked out, so the doctor had me come in and do some tests. Turns out I was dehydrated Embarrassed Water made me more nauseous, so I never wanted it. Oops. So after a couple of days of forcing myself to drink Gatorade (and feeling pretty crappy), I am actually now feeling much better. I'm also eating every 30 minutes or so, and I think that is helping a lot too. It's a relief! I was feeling really bad there for a few weeks.

  • QOTW:  I'm just now starting to pack mine Embarrassed  My must haves this time are:  baby book (for feet prints), boppy, comfy jammies, camera, DH's laptop and gatorade to drink during labor.  I went almost 24 hours without eating last time and I really think that was part of the reason I was so ex.hau.sted during the final 30 minutes of pushing.  At least the gatorade will help give me a bit of energy if I need it.  Hopefully this l&d will go much quicker!

Updates:  I feel large.  My stomach is tight and I can't imagine it stretching much more, though I know it will.  Other than that I can't complain too much.  I'm sleeping fairly well and I get to stay in PJ pants most of the day.  At my appointment on Monday I was "a good 3-3.5 cm" and 70% effaced.  Obviously I want him to cook as long as he needs to, but I'm happy that progress is being made.  Now if I could make progress on his name....

  • QOTW: no bag packed yet, of course.

Update: started getting some nausea last week, but overall it's not bad. Sprite is my new best friend. We had our second ultrasound Monday and it went well. So we are starting to tell more and more people. Exciting and scary! Now we just have to decide what to do about the genetic screening (hence my post yesterday,) I'm so thankful for you ladies and your wisdom!

  • QOTW: Nah. I'll pack during labor like I did last time. I'm pretty close to the hospital - if I forget anything someone can bring it to me.

Update: Nothing new to report. Tomorrow we're going to have a peek and see if we can find out the gender. I am SO EXCITED! I don't know what it is about this pregnancy, but I have never been more anxious to find out. I made DH promise that if we don't get a good look tomorrow we can pay for an elective scan instead of waiting another month.

If no one else wants to I can take over the check in.

((Hugs)) I'm sorry if I missed something somewhere but I feel like maybe you need some internet hugs.  I'm sorry for your loss.

  • QOTW:  Ha ha.  No hospital bag yet.  I did take my own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash with me.  As well as some earplugs, deodorant, my toothbrush, and toothpaste.  And slippers to wear around the hospital.  We also brought a 6-pack of mini gatorades for me to drink during/after delivery and we left them in the L&D room.  Boo.

Updates:  I'm still tired.  Does it ever go away?  I'm wondering if it won't with my active daughter running around and me trying to keep up with her.  *sigh*  And I want a bump, darn it.  I have a "lump" right now.  I'm sure it'll pop soon but as of right now I look like I ate too much at my last meal.  Hmpf.

  • QOTW:  Yes, bag is packed and in the car with my pillow and the car seat.  I had no idea what to put in there.  Comfy loose pj pants and top, gown, hair ties and headbands, little travel size bag with shampoo, deoderant, tooth brush/paste, chapstick etc.; robe, slippers, socks, baby's coming home outfit. Pages from baby book for hand/foot prints.

DH still has to pack his bag: change of clothes just in case, phone chargers, comic book (so I can throw across the room at him).  We hired a birth photographer so we dont need a camera.

UPDATE:  As of this morning LO is 6 lbs 5 oz! Little porker.  And I am 4.5 cm dilated.  They want to see me twice a week. She will most definatly not be a Feb baby!

  • QOTW: nope, no bag packed. I have a list from my birthing class about things to pack, I'll probably use that.

Update: passed my 3 hour test today. Yay! Oh and iron supplements rock. I actually feel normal. The RLP is getting pretty bad, but not too horrible, just uncomfortable. Just 2.5 months to go!

  • Not really sure what to bring this time as I won't be there for more than 8-ish hours after delivering.  I plan on asking at my next appt.

Update: I had to go in for another u/s to check on the position of my placenta.  It moved and all is good.  Other than that, I am super uncomfortable already and starting to freak that I haven't gotten things ready for my sub--I am usually very prepared in situations like this.  I've started today by trying to organize my office so she isn't all freaked when she comes to visit.

  • QOTW: Ummm..no. That would be silly/crazy. :-) But my must haves have all been mentioned. Camera, batteries for camera, computer, baby book for foot and handprints, nightgown or pjs, boppy, nursing tanks, toothbrush and my own soap/shampoo.

Updates: I am itching for my next appointment, which is next week. I am thankful not to be so nauseous but now I just worry that everything is ok in my belly since I can't feel baby move yet. I have seriously been tempted to poas again, just to make sure. Neurotic? Yes.

Since we transitioned the boys into the same room now, the nursery is all open and ready to paint and decorate. That is, I'm hoping DH will be agreeable to re-paint once we figure out the gender of this baby.

Is anyone interested in resurrecting PG gtgs?

I want to tell you that it does get better, but I am still tired what with working and a 2.5-year-old.  I had a small window where I wasn't super tired, but sadly it went away.
