Shopping for Baby

When is the right time to start shopping for baby? I have had a miscarriage in the past so I'm a little hesitant to allow myself to get all worked up before actually seeing my baby, but I am now 12 weeks pregnant, had ultrasound at 6 weeks and 9 weeks and all was well, yesterday we even got to hear the heartbeat on the doppler...I am excited for this baby but can't help to worry, I have bought a few gender neutral outfits and wondering when is the right time to start purchasing big items?

    We are waiting until we find out the gender to make any big purchases ...

    I think I'm going to wait until after my anatomy scan to start any serious shopping/registering.  I've purchased a few onsies that were on clearance but not much else.

    I won't start shopping for baby till my third trimester. I am more focused on buying some breast pads today, I want to be prepared in case I start leaking colostrum!

    We're doing a recon shopping trip this weekend - not buying anything unless it's for the pregnancy, like body pillows or breast pads. I've done a ton of internet research but there's no substitute for going into the store and looking at stuff.

    we bought a wall hanging for the nursery last night. it was our first real purchase and even though it was only 20 dollars, felt like a big deal.

    i'm not sure what i'm waiting for. the shower i guess. waiting to see what we'll need come july.

    I have purchased 4 things so far.....a diaper bag (got a great deal on a VB one), a bouncy chair (again great Target deal), a blanket and a sleeper.  My mom is pissed that I have purchased those items, but oh well.  It isn't like I have gone nuts.

    I've purchased a bunch this week.  I'm on vacation so I have the time to look around.  Also, with twins, I've been warned to get things done early because I might not be able to or feel up to shopping in the 3rd trimester.

    I'm going to start around 30 weeks, when I start birth classes.  I have been doing as much research as possible on recalls, etc.  To prepare for now my DH and I are taking infant CPR, parenting classes weekly which is more important to me.  I would wait until 5 months at the very least.
