any advice you can give about spending a night or 2 away from a young toddler?
id like for my son to stay at home when i go to the hospital. would it be better for him to have him sleep over at the inlaws, or have the inlaws sleepover at our home? should we do a trial run?
we were co sleeping until last week (him in his bed in our room). he sleeps in his room now. he has been weaned since september.

Usually it's best to have the caregiver (your inlaws) come to your home. That way your LO still has all the familiar surroundings of his own home, bed, ect. while you are away.
I would definitely do a trial run to see how it goes. Maybe you could try one of each (your own house and inlaws house), to see which he does better with.
My DS just did his first trial run, sleeping at the neighbors house for a night. He did great and we plan to do a few more, as we continue to approach the due date. However, if I go into labor in the middle of the night, we don't want to have to wake him up, to take him next door, so another neighbor that's usually up most the night, will come over while he's sleeping and then take him next door, after he wakes up and adjusts to the news.
