Does anyone else's nipples hurt/are sore when its really cold outside? I'm not sure if it's because Luke is so little (just over 5 weeks) and they're still sensitive or what. I nursed Jake all through the winter but he was 5-7 months old by that time so I'm sure my nipples were toughened up by that point, lol.
Anyway...just wondering if I'm in the minority or if this is a common occurrence?! Jake and I went to the store this evening and my nipples were literally throbbing from the pain of the cold (I had a winter jacket on too).

Do your nipples blanch white after a shower or BFing? If so, you sound like you're having vasospasms.
100mg/day of Vitamin B6 can help. So does covering immediately after BFing and showering. I also used a heating pad at night when it was bad after BFing.
I also noticed it was worse if my hands and feet got cold.
It got better for me after some initial trauma.
Yes, I definitely get vasospasms. I did with Jake and now with Luke too. It's not at all painful with they nurse- I think it's mostly due to my extremely strong letdown- poor Luke gets shot in the eye with my BM at least 5 times a day!
I didn't know that had anything to do with temperature/being sensitive to temperature.
Thanks for the info!

This. I had it when Boodle was younger, not related to weather for me I don't think (wasn't better/worse in certain temp changes), and it stopped when she was probably 2 months old.
