  • I had that problem, and was told it was micro tears healing. It went away after about 2 days.

  • I have moments where it feels like it is starting to get itchy, but not bad yet. I assume it's the tears healing, like how a healing tattoo itches.

  • I'm very itchy also! It's been on and off for about a week now! Sad

  • I had this too, it has gotten much better. My OB told me to continue to take 3 20 min baths a day.

I also noticed that the pads I was using were making things worse. I switched to cloth diapers (yup the ones I bought to use as burp rags). And that helped a lot.

Hang in there it gets better!

  • I use the cheap Gerber prefolds for pads too, lol. My skin can't handle the plastic pads.

I've been getting itching too, because of my stitches healing.  Witch hazel helps a ton, and doesn't burn on the tears.

  • I had this! I assume it was just everything healing up, because the itching is gone now.

  • Same thing here. The witch hazel is amazing but I stopped using it after two weeks because I can't stand the way it smells. The nurse who went over the stitches care with me told me to use hydrocortisone creme for the itching. I just put a little bit on the pad in about the right area and it finds it's mark without me having to use my hands. I should mention that you should make sure it's only a little or you'll feel really wet down there. Oh I forgot I don't have a ticker. I'm 3w4d pp, and the itching is getting better but not gone yet.

Same here except it still itches periodically but I apparently have a lot of those small tears.

  • It could be a yeast infection. I got one after DD and DS were born. It was no fun.
