Success after IF

I've about had all the real estate fun I can stand...

First, we had the sale that fell through because the buyers couldn't get financing.

Then, we have great buyers but had an easement issue...

Then, we worked out the easement issue with the buyers...only to have my REA call me a few minutes ago and tell me that the lender is expecting the appraiser to have an issue with the easement.

Seriously?  What the crap is that about?  We have a legal right of way off the property, but use, as our driveway, a strip of land that we don't own.  A company owns it, and has owned it for years, and we've NEVER had an issue, and the people who lived here 30 years before us NEVER had an issue.

I'm sick to death of all this crap.  I want so badly to sell this house/farm...and I'll do whatever it takes to make it work, but jeez oh pete I am sick of jumping through hoops.

Vent over...

  • Oh man, sorry you are still dealing with this.  Hope it all works out, somehow.

I'm not very familiar with easement issues - but did you just negotiate something with the buyers, or fix the issue?  Selling sucks...and you've been through enough with this house sale!

We have a legal right of way...but it just isn't paved.  Our driveway (gravel) is an easement through someone else's property, and it isn't deeded.  The buyers came out and we walked the legal right of way down with them, and they were perfectly fine with it.

I got a call back from my REA and she had spoken to the buyer's agent who had spoken to the bank again...and it seems like it may be okay after all.  Apparently if their outside lenders won't go for it, they'll do an inhouse loan for him.

    Thank goodness.

I'm just ready for all this to be said and done already!!
