Will Tricare cover an IUD? I am trying to figure out which BC option I want to use after baby comes, and I think I want to go with an IUD. As a dependent, would it be covered? Right now I'm on Prime, but I get out on the 20th, so I don't know what I switch over to when I am enrolled as DH's dependent. Tricare is so confusing. I'm trying to look it up on the website now, but it is SO SLOW. Thanks!
Re: Tricare Coverage of IUD?
New to this place, but wanted to let you know that Tricare covered my Mirena back in 2007, including all the issues that went along with insertion (it had to be done by a pelvic surgeon after two failed attempts by OB/GYNs). It was so worth it though, and I didn't pay anything. I had it in for 3.5 years.
I'm not sure if this made a difference in my coverage, but due to my migraines, I was limited to non-estrogen BC, making Mirena one of my limited options. Hope that helps!
