Q2: Rec your Mortgage broker/RE agent

Ok. So I should probably talk to a mortgage broker about refi my house. The ex already spoke to a RE agent and looked up some info and gave us an idea on what the house would sell for. Should I get another opinion? I wasn't happy with her estimate but I believe it, lots of houses for sale in our area.

 Any mortgage broker recs?

Also who would I talk to if I wanted to work on improving my credit score?

Re: Q2: Rec your Mortgage broker/RE agent

  • I really like Buffington Mortgage, who I used when I bought my house.

ETA: When preparing to sell the last house I lived in, the realtor had a chart of comps she compiled that included houses for sale in the neighborhood and houses that had been sold.  She averaged the price per square foot, but also took into consideration improvements, etc. to come up with a list price.  If you're satisfied that the RE agent your ex spoke to has done the appropriate work to come up with a suggested list price, getting a second opinion may not be helpful.  But, it couldn't hurt, right?

  • Getting a second opinion NEVER hurts. What happens on your market recently, and time of year can greatly affect sales price. So, especially id it was a while ago is recommend talking to another agent. Recommend Senter mortgage.

  • The bank will do an appraisal regardless of what a RE says, so unless you just want another agent to do it for you there's really no need. It won't have any bearing on what the bank comes up with.
