Ginger Ale doesn't have caffeine. Even if it did, you're allowed a little bit of caffeine, just not a ton (but who would want that in the middle of the night!).
Ice water works for me... but I've just had mild nausea and no real sickness yet.
At night, keep a box of crackers and a glass of water (or gingerale) on your night stand so if you wake up sick you don't have to get out of bed.
This.. except, also kept the trashcan next to the bed too!! Sometimes, waking up with the urge of gagging would cause me to jump up and run to the bathroom.. then from getting up so fast I'd feel faint and light headed which make the sickness even worse!! Ugh.
FX I put my trashcan back in the bathroom yesterday.. been puke free for almost a week.. hoping that I'm starting to overcome my m/s!!! Still have the queasiness and occasional gag, but not so much of the puking.. could it be, 2nd trimester is on the horizon.. am I slowly stepping away from m/s!!?? LOL
Ice water with lemon, and jolly ranchers worked for me last time, and so far this time around they are working to some extent as well. Additionally, small meals throughout the day and before you go to bed have something with protein in it to last you through the night.
In the morning I need something "bready" like a pastry or bagel. I drink ginger ale which helps so much! I heard really good things about "preggie pops" which I have yet to try. I find that I just need to keep stuff in my tummy so that I don't get that queazy feeling.
Trader Joes has ginger chews (except they're really hard, so they're better to suck on) that really help settle my stomach. I also keep crackers and water next to the bed to sip.

With my first it was gummy bears and jolly ranchers, especially when I was in a moving car. With this one, eating every hour seems to help. Today I've been eating cherries all morning, I had a banana, 1/2 of a low fat homemade granola bar and a salad for lunch. Ginger ale didn't help me with baby #1, but with this one I've been pouring it over crushed ice and sipping it all evening and it seems to be working.

Preggie pops have worked miracles for me .. but I have also stocked up on ginger ale, saltine crackers and pretzels ..

thank you so much!!! i keep nibbling on things to help (mostly pretzels). i'll try these suggestions for sure. it comes in waves and im hoping i can keep it from work until the end of my first tri or close to it.
My dr. says M/s is worse when tired- so when I am sick with m/s I try to sleep- sometimes not possible, but when I get home I sleep. lately I go to bed at 7 pm (thanks to my great dh as he helps tons with the kids)
I am also on nausea medication. Not feeling it helps but maybe - takes the edge off.. maybe
I eat often and I try to sleep. I eat things sour helps too- like pineapple, and lime and apple juice. and lemon mirange
I do not throw up often, and haven't to date, but I really wish I could! My morning sickness seems to be strongly connected to smells, and when I felt the sickest earlier on I was working at a garage...now I'm back at a garage and whenever I walk in here first thing in the morning it hits me. Nothing helps; I've tried all the traditional suggestions.
Thankfully, I don't feel sick every day, now. I had a break during week eight, and now it's only some days I feel sick.
i will try to keep eating every so often to keep it under control and these suggestions. i havent had my first dr appt yet so i am early..4-5 weeks. i am surpised that it started this early. wakes me up in the middle of the night as well.
i am trying to keep it under wraps at work but its hard because i normally dont graze all day and look like a zombie. i will try these tips..thanks so much and best of luck with it to all of you!
I would suggest either eating something with protein directly before bed or waking up in the night to eat something. I do apple or banana with peanut butter.
Another thing that helps me is Simply Lemonade. Sour helps me a lot.
Re: what helps you with your morning sickness
Citrus really helped me with my first pregnancy. I kept an orange on my nightstand and smelling it would help calm my stomach.
Also, it sounds weird - but sour patch kids were my life saver.

During the day, frequent meals, lots of water, candy or sugarless gum.

Ohh yes the car makes it so much worse for me. Thank god for jolly ranchers.

Nothing I have found helps to be honest
Blah, nothing

I second sour patch kids.
I also eat green apples- the tart helps me. As well as citrus.
Ginger ale doesn't always help b/c the sweetness can turn me off- I drink lemon/lime seltzer.
Also today I really made an attempt to eat small meals every 2.5-3 hours and keep something in my stomach. Made a HUGE difference.
I also keep crackers on my nightstand.
I would suggest either eating something with protein directly before bed or waking up in the night to eat something. I do apple or banana with peanut butter.
