How much time off is your so/dh planning to take off when the baby comes.
DH works for a small company with no paid leave, but his bosses are really laid back when it comes to taking time off.
It all depends for us how much $$ we can save up to cover his lost wages. My goal is two weeks off.

DH wants to take 6 months of leave - half my maternity/parental leave. I told him when he grows boobs to feed the babe, he can take half of the leave.
He will be taking a month off when baby is born. 2 weeks vacation and 2 weeks of leave. We're also expecting he'll be laid off for a couple months over Christmas so he'll have that time at home too. After that, it depends on when my work needs me back and when I want to go back - he'll take whatever leave is left at that time.
Last time, he was home with us for the first 4 weeks and the last 2 months. I went back to work a little early and it sure was nice having a house-husband around.

With #1 I think DH took about 2 weeks off. With #2, it was no more than a week.
This time we're hoping he'll take about a month off, but that's mainly so that he can focus on the older 2, keep them entertained, etc, so that I can focus on the LO and getting some rest (after #2 was born it almost killed me to be up with DD at night AND have to be up with both LOs during the day for the first few weeks).
