7pounds 3 ounces!!! The tech said it is accurate to about a pound either way. It sound like I am going to have a big baby, I still have 2 1/2 weeks to go.

Did they do a growth scan because they thought LO would be big (or small)?
I ask because my OB hasn't estimated size in a very long time, and wouldn't be surprised if LO was bigger!

Mine measured 7# 14 oz. @ 36w.
But those are notoriously inaccurate and 1-2# off (or up to 20%).
The only person I've heard have an accurate reading was my friend pg w/ triplets and she delivered the day after the sono. (and I'm pretty sure their equipment was a little more high tech for triplets!)
I just want to say that this is not true. A healthy baby can be born in a wide variety of weights and I'm pretty sure that the average weight is around 8 pounds. Bigger does not necessarily mean healthier, gestational age is more a determinate factor of health then anything.
