I post most often on 24 month board, but have a question that you may be able to answer as well.
I haven't flown standby for a long time and the last time I did was right about when the # of flights were starting to decrease and flights were really oversold so it was already a pain even w/out kids. I want to try to visit my best friend in FL b/c we'll both be turning 30 during the same month and it would be fun to celebrate together. I just can't justify a full price ticket right now, but my mom used to work at Delta so I can fly standby. I would probably leave DD with DH b/c he can handle her pretty easily on his own and take DS with me (he'll be about 10 months old at the time). Just curious if anyone has flown standby with a 9-12 month old recently and how it went.
TIA!
Re: Repost from 24 months+: Flying standby
my SIL works for Delta and we fly non rev all the time. we just recently came back (we spent the week after christmas in GA). DS was almost 11 months at the time and we did really well. Flying from Boston to ATL is a huge pain in the A$$ all the time. we didnt make the first flight but we did make the 2nd flight down to ATL but the crappy part was it was a full and i mean full full flight so it was uncomfortable but i stood most of the time in the back holding DS while he slept. Thankfully the guy next to me and behind me were super nice and helped if i needed it.
coming back home i got on the first flight i tried for and got an entire row to myself and it was marvelous i never have problems flying non rev the whole crappy part is that everyone seems to be flying non rev nowadays lol so it can be tough to fly out on time.
