Ear Infections

Anyone else feel like they're fighting a losing battle with ear infections?  I think we've gone to the pediatrician at least every 3 weeks since the girls' six month appointment in October for ear re-checks or for possible (and usually confirmed) ear infections.  I'm pretty sure we're destined for tubes at some point in time this year.  Poor girls take after their mom in that respect.

Re: Ear Infections

  • My little guy had a very minor ear infection, I took him to the chiropractor, he just tugged at his ears a bit, and it was almost instant relief. I'd do it again.

  • We fought the battle and lost. We had tubes put in on Black Friday. She is 8m now. She'd had 6 ear infections. It was awful. Have you tried the chiro? I would've gone that route first if I had known that they treat kids All The Time for this with great success. Ear drops: Ciprodex= Miracle. I'm sorry that you/they are going through this!
  • DS is on antibiotics for the 2nd time in less than 2 months for an ear infection. I fear this will be our situation as well. :(

  • Don't be bummed if you have to go the ear tube route.  The common procedure takes literally minutes.  In the end, less worry over more infections (until the tubes fall out), worry free flights, and your LO will probably be more responsive to sound-b/c they can hear better.

With that being said, I wish your LO's a healthy year w/ no more infections!

  • LO had her first ear infection at her 6 month appt. Her second ear infection just after she turned 7 months (along with 2 teeth popping through). And we were back at the doctor Monday to find out she has ear infections in both ears this time. Yuck!
