We went to the doctor yesterday because DS was wheezing when he was on his belly. She told me that his lungs were clear and his wheezing was a positional issue. His mini pushups are causing strain on his diaphragm and causing forced exhalation. As his torso lengthens and he is up on all fours it will go away. NEVER heard of this before, but DS is crazy active for his age.
And, he was weighed and he has gained one ounce shy of 2lbs in three weeks. After his 4 month check up I was worried because he had dropped to the 12th percentile in weight-from the 24th percentile. His spitting up and being an extremely active baby had been to blame.
I swore to everyone that he was starving before starting solids! Formula just was not cutting it! I absolutely would have started him at 3 months if DH would have gone for it. Now, at 5 months tomorrow, he eats three meals a day and is much more content and a better napper. My Mama instincts told me he was ready for food and I feel I was right-not to say that this works for every baby.
Re: update to wheezy baby, 2lbs in 3 weeks, and why starting solids worked for us
I never read your first post either but happy to hear he is thriving and healthy. Just a question, what are you feeding him at B, L and D so far? I have just been doing B and D of cereal...
