Great list! The only thing I disagree with is the swaddling blanket. The Miracle Blanket saved us, and is my go-to gift for new parents. It may be basically a straight jacket for babies, buy once we got that bad boy DD slept like a champ!

I agree. If done properly, most babies don't mind swaddling. (Babies don't mind it & parents love it!)
First birth: Natural (med-free) Second birth: Hell, no. Epidural all the way.

Great tips! One thing I must add I read in an article about breast pads. Instead of buying them specifically you can take panty liners & cut accordingly - suppose to work very well.
Very helpful, thanks for sharing! I was just thinking about what we were going to put the baby in when we bring him/her home for sleeping at night in our room. I didn't want to spend the money on a bassinet, the rock and play seems like exactly what we need.

This! But if you are like me with my first DD, panty liners won't cut it, just get full pads and cut them in half! They were the only things that kept me from having to change shirts and bras every hour!
Also I had a diaper pail and hated it because it absorbed the poopie smell and I couldn't clean it out! Reuse grocery bags and just take them out right away. I suggest leaving a garbage can right outside the door to keep smells outside.
the right one will always make you feel like you are the most loved person in the world

Agreed!
I already have a lot of your items on my registry! Thanks!
Question about the sleepers, I have been on the fence about these. Do you just use for naps or overnight as well?
