  any recc's for books for new moms?  i am interested in getting what to expect what you are expecting but hear missed reviews

  We checked out a ton from the library before committing to buying some. We (my husband reads it too) really only ever liked What to Expect. I scored it for $3 at a kids consignment shop. 

  I got a few guy centric ones from the library, but they weren't as thorough, and just brushed over the issues, didn't explain anything about the baby, etc. So MH hated those. 

  I've heard good things about "Your Pregnancy, Week by Week" but I thought it was just reiterating what I read in What to Expect. 

  Someone posted about the Mayo Clinic pregnancy book a few days ago, and she said she really liked it.

  I hated WTE, it was a waste of money & time.  I liked I'm Pregnant and Healthy Sleep, Happy Baby by Marc Weissbluth

  I really liked WTE, but I understand that some people don't. I also liked "Your Pregnancy Week by Week". And for after the baby is born, "What to Expect the first year".

  Me and DH both like What to Expect When you are Expecting. He especially liked the section for dads.

  With my first pregnancy WTE was my bible. I still enjoy reading through it since it has been so long since my last pregnancy. The book What To Expect The First Year is awesome!!! We bought the set for my brother and sister in law and they love it.

  I posted about the Mayo book and can't recommend it enough.  It gives you all the info in a no-nonsense manner and without any scare tactics.  I thought WTEWYE was unnecessarily concerning at several points.  Several of my friends thought so and had warned me.
