I'm so sorry you have to go through that! I know how annoying chronic infections can be. I once had a yeast infection that was so bad I had to take 3 rounds of Diflucan, use a speical prescription vaginal cream *and* eat a carb free/no sugar diet for 5 weeks to knock it out. It was misery.
I haven't delivered yet, however, my friend had a pretty bad infection in her c/s incision. I was staying with her for 2 weeks after she gave birth to help her out (her husband couldn't take any time off from work) and she asked me to take a look at it. It was reopening and oozing pus. I took her to the dr who said it was infected and put her on antibiotics. After I left the infection didn't improve and she had to have a wound care nurse come over every day to change the dressing and clean out the incision. She wasn't allowed to pick up anything heaver than her son and couldn't drive for several weeks. To this day she still has a small opening from where the skin never fully reclosed and her c/s was 3 years ago. I hope and pray that the antibiotics work for you and you don't have to go through what she did. I fully blame her dr who took out her staples after 4 days, which IMO, was too early.
