We had our ultrasound scan last week and we wanted to keep the sex of the baby a surprise. But, the tech did some leg measurements without asking us to look away and we both swore we saw male parts. I don't know if it's because my husband is a pediatrician and almost all of our friends are doctors, but I have not known any of them to walk away from the ultrasound without having at least a 90% sure guess what the sex of their baby is. None of them have been wrong after the baby was born either. Did anyone else have this problem where what you wanted to be a surprise turned out to be not so much of a surprise?
Re: Trying to be Team Green question
I'm sorry that happened. I can tell you from experience that a bit of cord showed up on DD at 38 weeks and led the Doc to believe I was having a boy, but a few seconds later she said...nope, definitely a little girl!
Truthfully, it will be a suprise no matter when you learn the sex. I was just as surprised and happy at 38w with DD as I was at 15w with Alien. The OB took a wild guess with DD at 16w. I just said I didn't know. Because, a random shot super fast is probably 50/50 accuracy. You can remain Team Green, because you really DON'T have confirmation. Or, you can have an elective scan. Either way, you'll be thrilled and suprised.

UGH! I'm so sorry that happened. What a bummer!
We have been team green since the beginning. At our 20 week scan, practically the first thing I said was that we didn't want to know. So, whenever she got anywhere near the lower half of the body, she told us to close our eyes. Even though we just wanted to watch it all, we both were good and closed them anyways. She even said that she wouldn't try to find out at all and it wouldn't be in our file. So no one at our practice knows and no one would be able to slip and tell us by accident.
