Pull-Ups to me. We are planning to embark on the potty training journey in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if I needed to buy Pull-Ups. I know this will be a one-day-at-a-time type of experience, but as of right now I was just planning to switch her from diapers to panties cold turkey during her awake time. I'm planning to still put her in diapers during naptime and at night because she still has no bladder control while she's sleeping and wakes up with a soaked diaper after every nap and in the mornings. I think she's ready for potty training when she's awake and alert but I am not planning to stress having her stay dry all night until she's a little older.
So would there be any advantage to putting her in Pull-Ups instead of regular diapers during naps/nighttime? Is there any advantage to putting her in Pull-Ups instead of regular panties? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm just really clueless and not seeing the point of the Pull-Ups right now lol...but I figure they must serve some purpose since they keep making them and people keep buying them ![]()
Re: Someone please explain...
We went straight to panties when potty training but did use pullups for nighttime and naps. The pros for using the pullups are if she has to go she can easily pull them down herself versus having to take off the pamper.
We didn't use pullups during the day - because they are like pampers - stay dry = no incentive to go potty. We learned that lesson with my first born!
This! No pull-ups or diapers during the day. We went a little too far and put him in underwear at naptime/bedtime as well. We placed a waterproof mat on the bed as well. But we ended up cleaning and doing laundry after bedwetting for over a month. He was just not ready. So we went ahead and bought pull ups. For the most part he doesn't wake up at night but I've caught him waking up once in a blue moon lately to go to the bathroom. He just pulls them down and goes in the potty and goes back to bed; he wouldn't be able to do that with regular diapers. Good luck with the process Jen!!

Ditto some of the others, I went straight to undies during the day, I actually had her in nothing for a couple days until she learned. The first couple days were not fun, but then it just clicked.
I used pull-ups for naps and nighttime and I called them nighttime undies instead of pampers so she wouldn't think they were pampers.
Good luck!
