How thorough were you? I'm rewashing & sterilizing everything, but was wondering if it was okay to not do anything with the tubing. It seems like the tubes would be such a pain to clean.
If you have Medela you can put the tubes in those steamer bags. My hospital offers a pump check for 2+ moms (they check parts, recalls, suction, etc) so I'll wait to see what they say but I may just buy a new set of stuff. I EPed for 6m last time so they got a lot of use. I know I need to replace the membranes.
I guess I'm a germaphobe. My tubes got some condensation in them that I tried and tried to get rid of, but could not. I didn't want to use the pump for any future babies of mine, so I sold it immediately when I was done. I would never use someone else's pump, but if that's what someone else wants to do, so be it. I probably won't even buy a pump next time until I get past the 2 month mark. I quit BFing and pumping at 6 weeks because of a food intolerance. I will rent until we hit 2 months (I know something could develop after that, but this is my experience). I think if moisture got in the tubes it could have gotten in the machine, too. Ideally I will be able to use all my current pump parts (the extras I bought) with whatever I rent, after sterilizing them all.
