Home with a sick kid

DD had a slight fever yesterday and because it's still lingering around today I decided to stay home with her.  The working mothers will appreciate the fact that I thought about doping her up with tylenol to drop the fever and send her to daycare.  I probably could have.  But if the fever came back this afternoon and I had to pick her up then I would have had to miss work tomorrow as well.

She's currently laying on the floor 'reading' one of K's novels and I'm attempting to do some work email (okay, and nest).  Ohhhh....I should go watch crappy daytime television (you are NOT the father!)...off to make coffee.

this is always the hard call - especially when they are acting just fine. And now that they can talk, the teachers ask them if their parents gave them medicine. LOL.

Hope she feels better and you get at least some semblance of a relaxing day!

(Being home with a sick Gray is awesome (well, except he is sick) since he sleeps for 24 hrs when he is sick - it is like being home alone except to dose him with meds and get water into him every few hours. Being home with a sick Carter is well..just like being home with a well Carter. He is go go go even with a 103 fever. Goofy kid.)

  • Ah yes, this working mommy feels you on the fever debate. I hope baby T*T is feeling better today and I hope your day at home is productive in some sense, even if it's catching up on bad daytime tv. Wink
  • Hope your LO feels better soon. Enjoy the day off. Don't you love the quiet of being home on the weekday??? Especially unexpected, I think it's the best!

  • Well the day turned out to be semi-productive.  BabyT*T refused to nap but overall she wasn't that cranky.  I was able to make homemade mac & cheese and freeze a bunch of it.  I also put in about three hours of actual work so when I head back to the office tomorrow things shouldn't be too piled up.
