DS has been eating 3 - 4 ounces per feeding while I can generally only pump about 2 ounces or so. Since I am unable to keep up with his needs, we are going to have to supplement a bit with formula. We've given him a few bottles of Similac Advance, which our pediatrician gave to us as a sample when DS was born. I'm not sure if it was the formula or something else (something I ate, swallowing more air from his excess saliva/chewing on hands, etc), but he has been really gassy lately.
I want to wait a few days and see if the trend continues, but if it does seem to be linked to the formula, we'll be switching. What formula works best for your LO?
Re: Which formula do you use?
We use a generic of Similac Sensitive and Avent bottles.
DS had a time with formula and we tried them all before settling on Similac Sensitive, so when DD needed it (I also had to supplement) we started with that and she did fine.
With DS we used Dr. Brown's bottles, but I wanted to avoid the extra parts this time around if we could. Fortunately DD is doing well with Avent.

We actually go through spurts of Enfamil Premuim and Similac Advanced. I stock up on each when I have coupons, and she'll be on one a month or so before switching to the other. She doesn't have any problems switching, but I think her poop is nastier with Similac.
We use Avent bottles, but only because I had an Avent breast pump and the bottle would fit right to it. They work just fine so I haven't even tried anything else.
