Any suggestions out there? I've taken Claritin, Sudafed, used a Neti pot and nothing has helped. I'm so congested that the saline solution won't even trickle through. I'm miserable and open to any ideas.
I am doing pretty well this cedar season and I think it is all because of regular chiropractic adjustments. That is the only thing different for me this season. Maybe try that and see if it helps?
I took the Target brand of Zyrtec when I was pregnant with DD and it helped tremendously. My OB said it was safe to use. Keep trying with the neti pot! Eventually it will break through the gunk.
No siggy pic until TB gets rid of Twitter and FB links
I take zicam. It's a homeopathic nasal gel. It coats your nose so you don't have to worry about being able to breath it in. It's been working great so far!

Totally not trying to freak you out, but my sister lost her sense of smell temporarily (as in, nearly a month) and her doctor attributed it to Zicam nasal swabs. She had been using it as directed for several years (not the whole time, but on and off) before it happened.
I thought they took the swabs off the market. DH loved those things.

Leave town. Seriously - the cedar is really bad right now and if you have family you can go visit and stay with for a few days in a more humid climate (like Houston), that will help a lot. It usually helps me.
And Benadryl at night - I'm taking it every night now b/c I was getting sick of waking up b/c I could not breathe!
I finally went to the dr b/c I couldnt function anymore between the awful cough and the constant drainage. I ended up getting a steriod shot, and now they have me on 1 claritin and flonase (nasal spray) each day. I also do a sinus rinse before i do the nasal spray. If your nose is super stuffed up - try just taking a tylenol and see if it reduces the swelling. It was a trick the allergist told me a long time ago when I was constantly congested, but nothing would come out.
And seriously - winter is the only season I'm not supposed to have allergies! Its not fair!

Ditto. In fact my OB told me today that it's one of the allergy/cold drugs they know the most about in relation to PG women. She said it was fine for me to take it as needed. I'm further along than you, so if you're nervous call the nurse. I hope you get relief soon!
My Dr. said I could use Afrin *VERY* sparingly (it doesn't enter the blood stream). I would use it just at night so that I could sleep and only for 3 nights at a time.

FDA says the same thing.
