March 2012 Moms

Lets name all the great things about having a March baby!

I will go first!

I love the time of year: early spring, everything will still be cold as I stay in the first few weeks and then perfect for stroller rides and getting out more often in April!

And I am not a teacher, but I imagine its a good time to have a baby on the school calendar. Do you have to go back before summer break?

  • It won't be  Texas sweaty 110 degree heat in March. Cool  yay

  • I work on the school calendar and I would be taking the rest of the year off if I hadn't thrown my back out and been off for a month.  Now I have to go back for the month of May.  But even so I'll only be at work for a month and then have the rest of the summer off.  So that will be nice.

Lots of love to my BFPB, Squishy622 <3

  • Going through the worst of my pregnancy through the winter is great! I can keep myself covered up (don't have to shave everyday, lol!) and I'm not sweating through the hot & humid summer in Ohio.

  • I am a teacher and will be off until September.  I am very thankful that I have enough paid days saved up to last me until the end of the school year!

Also looking forward to the stroller rides! Plus, LO will be old enough to take to the pool later this summer!

  • The best thing about having a baby in march in my family are, my 2 cousins, and my mom all have birthdays, along with st patricks day are all a week apart-March 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st...my due date is actually my on my mom's birthday (24th), so it will be pretty neat if my baby boy is born on her day.  :-D  One more march baby in my family!

  • By the time we really feel like going out and walking around, the weather will be SO lovely here - April and May are stunning where we live!

  • Definitely LOVE being pregnant in the winter!  It's the first one I'm not cold!  I told my husband we should plan all of our babies around this time!  Plus it's getting warm when we have baby making it more motivating to get back in shape, and I'll have time to get in shape for triathlon season!  Now if I can only find someone to watch the baby while I race  . . .

  • There are so many great things about a March baby for me.

    - not having to go back to school(work) after having the baby

    - being able to get my body back for summer on the beach

    - our baby not having to share a summer birthday with the other 8 we have between May & July

    - perfect weather surrounding BK's birth!

  • Not being pregnant during the hottest time of the year.

By the time the baby will be old enough for me to really want to take him out, it'll be warm and flu/cold season will be over.

I'm from Savannah and St. Patrick's Day is huge there, so it's exciting to think his birthday will be close to the holiday.

  • all of the above and...I cant stop thinking about  the adorable easter pics we will get of our LO. She will be so cute and little :) and by the time Christmas comes around they will be big enough to play with toys and pull wrapping paper... I think March is the perfect time for a baby! :)

  • I love spring, so glad to have the time off to enjoy the weather with my LO.

Baby born not during the holidays.  I fell like spring through summer is the best time to have a baby, then it's back to school, then all of the holidays, but after new years things settle down.

A selfish momma one, a little bit AW: I love being pregnant during the holidays. It was so fun to see all of my relatives and have them pat my bump!

  • Having the holidays to keep busy/distract me plus not having to be super pregnant during summer. Plus when the baby is here the weather will be starting to get nice again and we can go for walks/swim at my parent's pool!

  • I agree with all of your comments, but most importantly, March is only two months away!

  • NFL season being over and CFL (because we're in Canada) not started yet is big in our house. And thankfully DH isn't big into March Madness.

Our babe will have her own birth month and away from her cousins which are all around Christmas.

We can hibernate for a bit and no one will notice.

The bulk of the coldest weather should be over by then. But we'll see, because it's been really mild up until now.

  • Well, I live in the Twilight state and they picked Forks, WA as Vampire town for a reason, cause it absolutely is rainy and gloomy all the time! Summer is my favorite month cause its the warmest and the happiest season for us Pac Northwesterners! So I'll have my new baby boy in March and will get a few weeks to adjust to being a new mommy. Then Summer is right around the corner.

After 6 months of being miserably ill leading into 9 months of pregnancy, I could use some serious mood boosting and a new baby followed by summer should do just the trick!!

  • Well first off March is just around the corner!

Secondly, not pregnant during the hot sticky months here in Atlanta.

Thirdly, being ready to hit the pool and possibly the beach with LO by mid to late summer.

Did I mention that March is like literally a couple months away?

  • It's a GREAT time in the school year to have a baby...this was a highly planned pregnancy for that very reason :-) And nope,  I have off from Feb-Sept.  I wish I could take a full year though.

  • I agree with so many of the above!

-Being a teacher I'll be off from March-August

-Weather will be beautiful to be outside

-The "worst" of my frist-tri was late summer and I was still off school and could take naps every day! ;-)

-Winter in3rd tri is SO much better than summer!

  • I refused to be pregnant in Cincinnati in the summer. It is hot and humid and miserable from about July-September.

I also was hoping for a Spring baby so we can get outside :) I have friends who about went insane being stuck in the house all winter b/c of the cold, or risk of flu. I friend of mine just had her little girl last week and is not allowed anywhere for 8 weeks b/c baby had some breathing issues and its flu season.

I hope to be able to go for walks and take some advantage of the spring during my 6-8 weeks off work.

  • Cold/Flu season will be over.

    Spring is AWESOME in MN

I can get back into shape much easier during the spring/summer than in the winter. I LOVE running outside.

I think we will plan it again to have another February/March/April baby with the next one. This timing is working out better than we could have expected!

  • I am hoping for a St. Patty's Day baby.  I love St. Patrick's Day!  Also, there is no big holiday to outshine little ones birthday.  DS is a January baby, and although his birthday is the end of the month, it just seems to soon after Christmas!  It does help that when he is sad to see Santa go, atleast he has his bday to look forward too! But, for me, it just seems so close!

Cherry blossoms are out in full bloom in my city.  As for when your child is school aged, typically the birthday won't be on a holiday so all the kids will still be in school and can come to the parties.  I remember it mattering so much as a child.  Weather's great, my birthday's the same month and so it just rocks in general.  I think too that being pregnant and in the 3rd tri throughout winter is easier than women who have to go through 3rd tri throughout summer.  That's a plus.

As someone who had two summer babies - I wholeheartedly agree and second this!

I won't actually make it to March, but I was really excited to be due right before DH's birthday

  • -As a teacher, it's the perfect time!  I'll be off from March to August.

-Not being hugely pregnant during the 110 degree summer.

-I really liked being pregnant for the holidays!  It was cool to be able to see all my extended family and talk about the baby :)

-LO will have a birthday at a pretty good time of year, not too close to any major holidays (other than Easter but only when it's early), not during summer when you don't get to celebrate in school, etc.

  • I have to agree with everyone that said not being pregnant in the humid summer.  It gets sticky here.

I am excited that by the time is gets warmer I will be able to take him out with me for walks in the park.

He will be born BEFORE St. Patrick's Day, which means that I will be able to actually celebrate!  Wheee!

This. The humidity is horrible in Atlanta. We've had mild "winter" weather. So March is an unpredictable Month for weather in Atlanta, we'll see what the weather holds for us. But the best thing about a baby born in March is he/she is old enough to be in the pool! and you can  get them used to the water and learn to love it!
