I am having the hardest time deciding on a bouncy seat! There are just so many options. The combi pod is one I keep going back to - does anyone have experience with it, or can you recommend one you like? Thanks!
From what I understand, babies either love or hate them regardless of how fancy they are. They can only be used for about 4-6 months (when baby starts trying to sit up). So for me, I'm just going for the least-expensive one which seems safe. If it's a lifesaver, fantastic, I'll use it for a few months, but if baby hates it at least I only spent $30-$40 on it. But hey, I'm cheap. Also a FTM, so not speaking from experience, just what I've heard over and over.
My DD hated the swing. However, she loved the cheap Baby Einstein $30 bouncer. We actually got rid of the swing and don't intend to buy a new one for LO #2. We kept the bouncer.
The bouncy seat was my little mans favorite. I got a fisher price one that lights up and plays music.
I think bouncers are good for keeping them entertained before they can sit up more (ie while you take a shower or fix dinner etc) so get a cheaper one with lights and music. They don't use them for long.
I loved my fisher price little lamb bouncy chair. Ds would play and nap in it all the time but like others said they out grow them so fast I would never opt for an expensive one. The only reason we even got one that cost as much as the one we did is out last name is Lamb so the chair was too fitting.
We never had one because we had the swing downstairs, the infant car seat for when he needed a secure place to sit and be moved around the house in and the Rock n Play for sleeping. We have a dog, so I wasn't a big fan of a bouncy seat close to the ground like that.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

We had a hand me down bouncer that DS loved, but it stopped working after replacing the batteries.
I definately want something similar: music, light up toys, toys to touch/grab on too, and something that vibrates. DS loves the things that vibrated or moved. Swing, rocking chair, bouncer. Like PP said though, some kids hate them and some love them.
We have this one, too. DD didn't really like it until but we kept it out anyway. Around 7+ months, she was able to hold her own bottle if we put her in it when it was time for her to eat. That worked really well for us, and it was the only way I got to eat breakfast myself! We did that until about 9 months and then she outgrew it, so it was useful for us but not in the way it's intended to be.

We just have some Fisher Price $30 one from Target that has little woodland characters on it and the vibrating feature with a few hanging toys. Both my girls have LOVED it though, and I couldn't shower or give DD1 baths (after DD2 was born) easily without it.

THIS!! I have a very nice one from DS and he absolutely hated it!! Needless to say it is like brand new so I will be trying it again with this baby. As PP stated, I wouldn't spend a ton because you never really know whether your baby will like it or not.
Re: 2nd time + moms: bouncy seat
There are combo bouncy seats/swings that are small enough to take with you or to just put on the counter (like this one: https://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=fisher+price+swing+bouncer+chair&hl=en&safe=active&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=3051063964373019549&sa=X&ei=BF0LT6SABeTL0QHYo83SBQ&ved=0CHEQ8wIwAA#). I'd highly recommend one of those. We had a separate swing and a bouncy seat, but used a combo seat/swing at our nanny share. DS loved it, it was easy to take with move around and travel with, and the swing was small enough that we could put it almost anywhere. You don't know if your baby will prefer to swing or bounce and this gives them both options (in one purchase).
